Wilson

Pug Rescue of Florida

Hello pug friends — we are happy to introduce Wilson the pug!

Look at this adorable face — can you believe anyone would abandon this precious little man? Well, that’s what happened — he was found by a kind Samaritan after he had been dumped in the Everglades. We are so happy this nice pug lover found him and contacted us to help.

Wilson is probably about 10-12 yrs old. He has limited vision and hearing but that does not concern him at all. He is a quiet loving soul, and just wants to be everyone’s friend. He is a typical love pug and enjoys hanging out with his people and other dogs. In true pug fashion he also loves food!!

He is a quiet guy and isn’t demanding. He easily fit right into the routine at his foster family. He enjoys napping with his new friends and exploring the backyard.

He is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines. He is currently on medical hold while we wait for his ear infections to heal — after that he will get a dental cleaning and will be ready for adoption.

If you are wondering about his name, you might have guessed….we named him after another very special companion…Wilson in the movie Castaway.  Oh, Wilson the pug is very much alive and well, but he will also be your constant companion and never leave your side!

UPDATE 9/12/18: The good news is that Wilson’s ear infections healed very well and he was able to have his dental cleaning today along with a few skin tags removed. The vets have determined, however, that Wilson does have a mast cell tumor on his side that seems contained but is inoperable due to location and his age. We are currently exploring the best way to treat this with medication. It does not seem to bother him at all — he is his adorable self, happy to explore his world and spend quality napping time with his humans and dog friends.
