Shirley the Poxer – Adopted

Pug Rescue of Florida - Shirley

Hi everyone,

I’m Shirley the Poxer… what is a Poxer you ask? My foster mom tells me I am a pug and boxer mix. Everyone comments about how much they love my pretty brindle coat — I like it too!

Even my friends at Pug Rescue of Florida (who have seen a LOT of pugs and pug mixes) think I am pretty unique and very special.  They say I’m a lot like a Boxer, but in a smaller size.  I’m just a year old and weigh about 35 pounds so I really shouldn’t get much bigger.

My favorite thing in life is to play. It makes me really happy when I get to play with dogs (I like cats too) and kids, big kids are the best. I LOVE to run around and play in the yard. Toys, socks, and all of those other things I can chew on are lots of fun too. Rumor has it that I’ve been known to chew on things I’m not supposed to when I get bored so it’s really important that I have people around me who like to play. My foster mom takes me with her to work at her doggy day care and I get to play with other dogs there all day and it is a lot of fun.

My foster mom says that she really hopes that my forever home will include a very active family, with another dog, and a fenced yard so we can all play together every day.

I like to ride in the car, so if you are looking for a travel buddy I’m your girl.

Here the details my future family will find helpful — I’m 100% potty trained and crate trained. I’m up-to-date on all of my vaccines, spayed, heartworm negative, and the only medications I need are my monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative meds.
