Hello friends — I’m Sheba, a 7 yr old Shih Tzu weighing in at just 7 pounds!
No, I’m not a pug, but fortunately the nice folks at Pug Rescue of Florida took one look at my cute face and knew I needed help, so they jumped right in and welcomed me with open arms.
I am a tiny little love bug who is looking for a lap to call my own. Nap time and cuddle time are my favorite times of the day 🙂
My life before rescue wasn’t very easy, but now I’m getting the medical care and attention to make me feel better. One of my eyes has collapsed due to untreated glaucoma. My other eye needs drops every day (Tacrolimus, Genteal Gel, and Saline drops). I’m up to date on my vaccines, spayed, and heartworm negative.
Because I can’t see very well my sense of hearing has really helped me to navigate my world — I’ve learned to rely on sound to help me find my people. I’ve also found that I get startled by very active dogs, so a home where I’m the only one, or there are slower paced dogs, would be the best fit for me.
In my younger days I never learned some basic doggy manners so my foster mom is working with me on things like potty training. But I’m learning and making progress — I will just need my new family to have someone who is home a lot and able to maintain a consistent schedule for potty breaks and I should continue to make improvements in this area.
