Hello friends — my name is Max and I’m an approximately 2 yr old BUGG (Boston Terrier/Pug mix) and I’m kind of small at just 19 lbs. I recently joined Pug Rescue of Florida as part of the Pug Bug Grumble.
One of the first things people notice about me is my very unique coloring — I have a blaze and white around my face and neck like a Boston Terrier, but my body is fawn like a pug. I also have a cute curled pug tail. The other really unique thing about me is that I have small patches of blue pigment in both eyes — it looks like the light is reflecting off my eyes all of the time!
I’m a shy quiet little guy. When I came into rescue I was really nervous — my foster family is helping me feel more comfortable. I like playing with other dogs but my favorite thing is to cuddle with people. If you sit down I will be in your lap, settling in and snoring in just a few minutes!
My foster family has given me baths to get rid of my fleas and now I feel a lot better. I’ve been to the vet so I’m up to date on my vaccines and I’m heartworm negative. I will get my neuter surgery very soon and I should be ready to be adopted after July 25th.
I don’t like walking on a leash so my new home must have a fenced yard for me to play in. We are still working on potty training — I’m getting better but I will need my new family to be patient and help me really get my potty routine all figured out. My new family should also have another small calm dog for me to hang out with and someone who is home a lot to help me continue to overcome my nervousness.
One thing I think is very interesting is new sounds. At first they startle me a little bit, but then I just get curious. Here is my foster mom’s favorite video. She says my ears and head tilts make her smile every day!
