Hi rescue friends, My name is Hercules and I’m a young little pug mix looking for a family to help me start a new chapter in my life.
I’m a young guy at about 2 yrs old and my friends at Pug Rescue of Florida think that I’m probably a JUG which is a Jack Russell & Pug mix. I know what you are probably thinking…with that combination I’m probably full of energy and maybe even a little stubborn. Actually, that is not the case at all! My short life has been full of challenges and I really need someone very special who will be very patient and loving with me. I’m really pretty shy and nervous, especially when I first meet new people. I tend to make friends with ladies fairly quickly but it takes me a while to feel comfortable around men. I don’t seem to understand little kids, and all of their quick movements either, so even they scare me.
My foster mom says that I’m very sweet, she calls me a “shadow” pug because I don’t want to be very far from her side. I’m a great cuddler and like to sit next to her on the sofa. She thinks a nice quiet household with someone who works from home or isn’t gone much would be ideal. I don’t really make a lot of noise when she leaves, but when I hear the garage door opening when she returns I get all excited and ready to greet her!
Once I feel comfortable with you all I want to do is cuddle and be your best companion. I like the idea of being an only dog.
When I first came into rescue and was still kind of nervous I was protective of my food, but my foster mom has been working with me and now I don’t react at all.
I am a bit of an athlete because I love to go on walks and playing in the yard is a really fun treat. I also walk well on a leash and have been told that I’m super smart and a very quick learner.
I’m about 21 pounds, up to date on my vaccines, neutered, and heartworm negative. I’m all ready to find my forever family — can you help me find someone who needs me as much as I need them?
