This has been another tough year for all of us! The ongoing pandemic made it very difficult to raise much needed funds, as the number of pugs and pug mixes rescued this year significantly increased this year over last.
We weren't even able to hold Pugsgiving (two years in a row!) - the biggest fundraiser of the year. Our virtual Pugsgiving only earned a fraction of what was earned in years past.
We currently have 9 long term care pugs in the rescue, with our fabulous volunteers providing love and care - but they all have ongoing medical issues with regular expenses. We have also paid for several necessary orthopedic and eye surgeries, as well as their follow up and ongoing care. We spend over $200,000 to help hundreds of pugs and pug mixes every year. That’s a BIG job!
Sadly, many pugs and pug mixes rescued by PROoF are senior and/or special needs and most have serious medical issues or haven't been to the vet in several years. PROoF provides vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm tests/preventative/treatment, medications, surgeries -- you name it! It takes a lot of time, effort, love, and money to get all of the pugs the care they need. With your help we will be able to help close to 200 pugs and pug mixes this year.
So, we wanted to ask you to please remember PROoF in your year-end donation plans.
Please donate now so even more pugs can be helped in the new year.

WHAT does this mean for OUR RESCUE?
We are still Pug Rescue of Florida, we now have an expanded role to help pugs in Georgia. Therefore, we need volunteers and donations so we can help even more pugs every year. We are working to update our website to reflect our new role and new areas of need, so keep checking back for more information about how you can help us grow and help more pugs!
Would you like to open your home and adopt a pug? Many of our pugs and pug mixes have ongoing health issues, are seniors, and have been through many changes. They are looking for loving stable homes to call their own.
We rely on the support of loving foster homes to help the pugs in need. All Pug Rescue of Florida pugs stay with foster families until they find their forever homes. We provide the medical care , you provide the shelter and love.
If you own or know of a pug that needs rescue in Florida or Georgia, call the Pug Rescue of Florida Surrender Line at: 321-948-8932. We will work as quickly as we can to help your pug(s).
