Thanks to the work of our amazing adopters and volunteers, we saw a need for pug rescue help in the state of Georgia, and we are now officially licensed and recognized as a foster/rescue in Georgia!
WHAT does this mean for the PUGS?
We are now able to accept pugs from Georgia into our rescue via the Surrender Form or from shelters in Georgia.
WHAT does this mean for ADOPTERS?
Anyone applying to adopt a pug in the state of Georgia will no longer be considered "out of state". We are building a team of volunteers who can help process applications, complete home checks, etc. So, if you live in Georgia we welcome you to apply to adopt!
WHAT does this mean for people wo want to foster or volunteer in Georgia?
1. Foster applications: At this time we are only accepting foster applications in the Alpharetta / Cumming area.
2. Volunteer applications: We need people who can help transport pugs, but you need to have a flexible schedule and be able to respond quickly to help pugs in need. We are also looking for people to help with events and local activities.
We need your help so we can continue this lifesaving work! In 2021 we rescued more than 140 pug/pug mixes. We ensure every pug/mix gets all of the medical care they need & those medical expenses total about $200,000/yr.
That's a BIG job and we appreciate your support!
Would you like to open your home and adopt a pug? Many of our pugs and pug mixes have ongoing health issues, are seniors, and have been through many changes. They are looking for loving stable homes to call their own.
We rely on the support of loving foster homes to help the pugs in need. All Pug Rescue of Florida pugs stay with foster families until they find their forever homes. We provide the medical care , you provide the shelter and love.
If you own or know of a pug that needs rescue in Florida or Georgia, call our Surrender Line:1-954-761-6194. We will call you within 6 hours to discuss your situation and help your pug.
