Sunshine & Holly – Adopted

Sunshine $ Holly - Pug Rescue of Florida

Hello our fellow pug lovers! Our names are Sunshine and Holly and we are a pair of sisters that were surrendered to the shelter because our owner became very sick and could not care for us any longer. We are both 8 years old, approximately 16lbs, and incredibly loving! We are so grateful that Pug Rescue of Florida picked us up because we both had some unaddressed health issues but we are doing quite well now!

Here are a few notes from our foster mom so you can get to know us better:

Both gals are potty trained, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and crate trained. They both also get along great with other dogs.

Holly is a fawn pug whose tail never stops wagging. She came into the rescue with a bladder full of bladderstones and had surgery immediately as well as a dental. Holly needs eyedrops two to three times a day for dry eye and the vet recommended that she be on SO food to prevent any more bladderstones. Holly is the epitome of what we all love about pugs–she is happy, loving, and will pin you down to kiss you. Her long tongue makes her even more adorable as well as her head tilts when you talk to her.

Sunshine is a beautiful black pug-brussels griffon mix who is quieter and more reserved than Holly. Sunshine loves to cuddle and give you kisses. She loves squeaky toys and she likes to speak to you when she wants more scratches or cuddles. Sunshine was recently evaluated by a surgeon and was found to have an inoperable tumor in her rectum. The surgeon said that her prognosis seems good as she acts completely normal other than having a little bit of difficulty pooping. She just needs extra time outside to go to the bathroom and is on special food and medications for comfort care.

All in all, we are an incredible pair of sisters that would bring so much love to any family that ends up with us!

If you can’t adopt us but would like to make a donation towards our vet care which has exceeded $2000 already we could greatly appreciate it! YOU can donate here –  Donate to Pug Rescue

Because we would like these to girls to find a wonderful forever home as soon as possible we are highlighting them and recognizing them as our August 2017 Pugs of the Month! As our pugs of the month their adoption fee will be waived for the amazing family that adopts them.
