Peter Parker – Adopted

8/29/17 UPDATE

Peter finishes his second/third round of shots with his heartworm treatment tomorrow and will be ready for adoption probably by next week. He will need a heartworm test in 3 months but other than that, he is totally healthy and a total lovebug. He is so loving and just a wonderful pup. He would do best in a home with another dog that is not crazy-hyper but likes to play. Here are some new photos of this special guy.  We know many pug people might be a little concerned about his larger size but please don’t let that stop you from considering this amazing boy.  He is great with other dogs and will make himself at home quickly with his new family.

Peter Parker - Pug Rescue of Florida

Peter Parker - Pug Rescue of Florida

Hello my fellow pug lovers! My name is Peter Parker and I am a beautiful brindle pug mix that came into Pug Rescue of Florida after I was found wandering as a stray. I’m so grateful that I was picked up because I was in rough shape with skin issues, fleas, and I was found to be heartworm positive. Thankfully, I am being treated for that and, so far, I am doing incredibly well! My treatment entails medicine, x-rays, bloodwork, and shots that will cost around $2000 when they are completed. Thankfully, Pug Rescue of Florida does not spare a dime for their fosters and I am going to make a wonderful dog for any family that adopts me!
To tell you a little bit about my personality, my foster parents say that I am just a happy-go-lucky dog! Because of my size, they think of me as 2 pugs wrapped up in one and you get that much more love from me because I am a lovebug. I am so incredible obedient, can follow commands, and I love to go for walks.  I make my foster parents laugh because I like to try to “eat” the air conditioning when we ride in the car and I truly think that I am a lap dog. I really like playing with other dogs and I would do best with a family who is familiar with bigger dogs and has older, calmer children. What more could you ask for — I’m playful, obedient, totally potty trained, walk well on a leash and love my humans and dog friends!
My name is perfect for me because I really am a superhero for everything that I have gone through.I had my first shot for heartworm treatment and I did GREAT! It hasn’t been too difficult to keep me calm for my treatment because I am a very laid back boy who prefers cuddles over toys.  My foster mom says that my forever family can go ahead and welcome me into their home and the great folks at Pug Rescue with work with my family to make sure my medical care is completed over the next few months.
My foster mom joked and said, “his family just needs to know that he needs 2-3 long cuddle sessions daily and 15 kisses every two hours.” If you are ready to bring a whole lotta love to your life, fill out an application for your personal superhero, Peter Parker.
