Hello, our fellow pug lovers! Our names are Mooshu and Tuffy and we are a beautiful pair of brothers who came into the rescue after our elderly owner passed away.
While we were incredibly loved by our former owner, we were very overweight and in desperate need of vet care. As many of you know, Pug Rescue of Florida does not spare a dime for any of the fosters and we are no exception as we have had around $5000 in vet care. We have accomplished quite a bit since our time in the rescue, here is the amazing progress that we made:
- For starters, we were bathed and cleaned up thoroughly as it appeared that our ears had not been cleaned and we had not been bathed in a long time.
- We both had the soft palate repair and nares surgery so we were finally able to breathe much better for the first time in our lives!
- We both had very thorough multi-stage dentals (that’s how bad our teeth were) and we are now able to play with toys for the first time in a long time as our teeth were no longer hurting anymore.
- Mooshu had a tumor removed from his front paw, as well, which is completely healed up.
The most amazing part? We were put on a strict diet and exercise regimen and we have both lost a total of 17lbs!!! We are so much happier that we are at a healthier weight and the rescue has truly saved our lives!
We are up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.
Our foster parents can’t even describe in words how much they love the both of us. They say that we are so incredibly friendly and loving to every person that we meet. They chuckle because we are a pair of ying-yang pugs. That is, Mooshu is the social butterfly and Tuffy is more of an introvert so we are the perfect balance of play and calm! We just want to be by your side 24/7 and are ready to be your study buddy, your napping partner, your therapist when you come home from a long day–whatever you need and we will be there for you.
We are such a happy-go-lucky pair and and have adjusted very well to the routine in our foster parents’ home. We have a lot of pug brothers so we do great with other calm dogs and we would do great with older children. We would do best with a family that has a fenced in yard and is home a lot because that was what we were used to with our previous owner.
We are not 100% potty trained but we give a lot of cues to let you know that we need to go outside. All in all, we are just the epitome of why pug lovers love pugs–we are loyal, we love to eat, we love to cuddle, and we just love to love. If you are ready to have your house invaded with a tremendous amount of pug love, please fill out an application for us and we would be so happy to bring lots of pug hugs and kisses to you and your family.
