Are you a homebody looking for a new Best Friend? Someone to keep you company and just love you for who you are. Someone that would like to go with you on walks and would enjoy keeping the squirrels out of your yard……well have we got the boy for you!
Brownie came into rescue when his owner died. He loves his humans and will be your best buddy all day every day. He is hard to take a selfie with though because he won’t stop giving you kisses. Like any good friend should, he will encourage you to get out and get healthier by taking more walks on nice days. He enjoys playing with his toys on his own but also loves you to throw them for him or play tug of war.
He has never had a sick day in his life, is fully vetted and 100% potty trained. You couldn’t ask for a better dog buddy. Because only one of his parents was a pug he has a longer nose which is a good thing… no breathing issues! He sees great! Hears great! Plays like a youngster, skin is great!……….did we mention he IS GREAT!!!!
We think he is a Jack Russell Terrier/Pug mix but whatever he is, he is a good boy and going to make one lucky family a great companion. He is 9 going on 5 and will have no trouble keeping up with you or laying on the couch watching TV if you prefer. He weighs a healthy 29 pounds.
Brownie is OK with some dogs but would do best as an only dog. He grew up an only dog and will growl or nip at some dogs because he doesn’t know what to do with them. He is toy aggressive to other dogs and food aggressive. He seems to like all humans that he gets to know but because of his fear of strangers and his food aggression, we are looking for a quiet home for him with no small children and no cats (cats look like squirrels to him… not a good thing for the cat). He loves walks but he is scared of car rides, he just sits and shakes. It takes him a while to feel comfortable in new situations so we think someone who has a work-from-home type job would be great because when he goes to a new place Brownie has separation anxiety. He eventually adjusts but as we have seen it take time, patience, love, and understanding to help him settle in.
He has spent almost 2 years with us here at Pug Rescue so that is why we have so much information to share about him and why we can be so specific about the type of home environment that would be best for him. His foster family loves him but they are retiring and leaving to travel and, well…as we’ve said, Brownie does NOT like the car. So we REALLY want to help this little guy finally find his FOREVER HOME ASAP! He has been through changes, learned to adjust, and we hope he can make one more change to a great forever home that will love him and give him all of the love and attention he deserves, because we know he will give all of that right back to his new family.
If you are Brownie’s love match, please contact us to learn more about this wonderful guy.
