My name is Bentley. As you can see I am a big handsome pug man. I currently weigh 24 lbs. and am estimated to be 5 years old. My goal each day is to love you, follow you, be with you, and make you smile.
As attentive as I am to my humans, it’s hard to believe that I was found wandering the streets of Orlando. When I was picked up by the Pug Rescue of Florida (PROoF), I was in rough shape. I had three mast cell cancer tumors on my body, and something wrong with my spine that caused my hind legs to weaken and sway when I walk. Sadly, we think that could be why I was left to fend for myself.
My new friends at PROoF did not care if I was healthy or not. This is when I found the true meaning of love and selflessness. They took me in and loved me like their own; and they are now working with a veterinary oncologist and a neurologist to help treat my medical problems. I am doing great but I know I have a long winding road ahead of me.
I love car rides, golf cart rides, sitting and being by or on you wherever you are. I’m a good eater of course (aka all pugs). I’m potty trained but have warning issues due to my spinal problems. I like other dogs okay and enjoy the dog park. But I’m okay as an only dog too because humans are my thing.
I think my foster parents are the best and I am on medical hold right now. But I have hope that one day I will find a forever home. Until that time comes, I know my Pug Rescue friends will watch over me.
Pug Rescue of Florida depends solely on donations and volunteers. Your donations will help pay for high medical bills for me and my fellow rescued Pugs.
Please give today. Thank you!
