Just in time for Gasparilla, here is your very own one-eyed pirate-dog - me, Jake! (actually, I lost my eye when I hit my head against a coffee table rough-housing with another dog, but that's not quite as exciting as being a pirate-dog, y'know?) I have had a sad life though, and I am sure ready for my Forever Home (all the buzz in foster care is about Forever Homes - you get your own toys, bed and people of your own to love). I was confiscated from an abusive situation and spent 3-4 months at Hillsborough County Animal Services. A lot of dogs don't make it out of there, but I am one of the lucky ones. The staff said that I was too special and made sure I got into rescue. I am a great dog, too. I am super-sweet, super-affectionate and I love to play with other dogs. I did just lose my eye and everybody is worried that nobody will want me. I don't think that's true - I'm still the same ol' loveable Jake! I am approx. 4 years old, weigh 35 lbs., am neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested and have been on heartworm and flea prevention.
